During a period my father was experiencing a difficult evening. Charlie became the ideal image of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Although my father may have seemed resistant and ungrateful, I was beyond grateful. Charlie went above and beyond to help my father feel comfortable, cared for, and valued! He had his own unique way of being present while also being consistent, assertive, and compassionately advocating for the next best steps that my father needed to take. It is due to Charlie’s character that my father overcame the fear and agreed to all his suggestions. All while he was attentively conscientious with my father, he was still providing hospitality to my girlfriend and myself! I believe if anyone deserves an award, it would be Charlie!
