My dad has been battling pancreatic cancer for almost a year. He has been in and out of the hospital for various issues related to his illness. This visit was a little scarier than his past visits as he seemed to be sicker this time. Nurse Charlie was his assigned nurse in ICU and has been a godsend to my dad and to our family. Charlie went above and beyond in all aspects of my dad's care. He was always very positive and explained everything that was going on. He was always so friendly and personable to me and my family and anyone who came to visit my dad. He continuously went out of his way to make my dad feel comfortable and help him in any way that he could. Whenever he was caring for my dad, he gave him his full attention and never made us feel like he was too busy for anything. You can tell that he truly cares about his patients and their families. He is extremely knowledgeable and very good at his job! He most definitely helped my dad and my family through a very stressful time with his caring nature and wonderful humor. He is truly deserving of this recognition and is a fantastic nurse. He is doing exactly what he is meant to be doing.
