January 2026 Honoree
Charlotte Cahillane, BSN, RN
I am writing to nominate Ms. Charlotte Cahillane for recognition as an outstanding nurse. My sister, L, has a rare and aggressive cancer and was hospitalized on 3North when she was transferred to hospice care. During her hospitalization, Ms. Cahillane showed consistent and high-quality respect for my sister, for her needs, and for her care.
Because of her condition, L frequently became confused and agitated. Ms. Cahillane treated her with calm, respect, and dignity even when L was trying to pull feces out of her bottom with her hands. No problem was too difficult for Ms. Cahillane. She listened to my and other family members’ suggestions with receptivity and offered comments that were thoughtful and caring. As a clinical social worker, I have worked in several hospitals. Many individuals I have met had somatic illnesses in addition to behavioral health conditions. I have seldom seen a nurse as caring, responsive, and dedicated as Ms. Cahillane. I regard her with high respect and support.

Thank you, Charlotte, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
