Charlotte McMillan, BSN, RN

Charlotte was nominated by the loved one of a hospice patient with stage IV prostate cancer. The loved one shared that from the moment Charlotte entered the room, she immediately put the patient at ease with her upbeat, positive approach. Facing a painful and anxiety-provoking catheter change made especially difficult by his enlarged prostate and cancer, Charlotte confidently and patiently addressed every concern with kindness, compassion, and even a sense of humor.

What had been an incredibly difficult experience in the past became one of comfort and relief because of Charlotte's expertise. The nominator wrote that the ease with which she completed what in the past has been a very challenging and uncomfortable task demonstrated her advanced medical skill and experience. Most importantly, they shared that their fiancé experienced immediate physical and emotional relief and that they were both deeply grateful for the care Charlotte and her PCT provided.
