Charlotte is a Charge Nurse on the 4th floor and I had the opportunity to work with this wonderful RN. She is a true meaning of nursing: compassionate, motivator, team player, and a facilitator. She is very involved with her co-workers. I was floated to her floor and I was so amazed how she was able to multitask without any complaint. She had 5 admissions back to back and she was able to make the charts for the patients and help receive the patients to their room. She is there when you need her.
Although Charlotte had her own patients, she was able to help 4 other nurses care for their patients. She is very encouraging and compassionate, and she loves her job. One of my patients had a panic attack, scared and unable to focus. The patient became symptomatic with a heart rate of 177. Rapid response was called. Vital signs were elevated because the patient was afraid and worried about her illness. I was the patient's nurse. Charlotte came to the room to help me. She stayed with my patient while I went to get equipment to check the blood sugar on my patient.
Charlotte was able to calm and comfort the patient by encouraging her to call unto the Lord when she is worried and afraid. By the end of her conversation with the patient, her heart rate came down to 98. The patient was calm and fell asleep. She is an excellent team player a great nurse!
