A former patient wrote a letter to express her gratitude for the "exceptional" care she received while being a patient on the Med-Surg floor. Among the many compliments she expressed was one for a nurse who was her "savior" and at one point held her hand and rubbed her head while talking to her when she was in distress as if "she" was a family member. The patient said, "the compassion she showed me was genuine and I appreciate everything she has done for me". When I read the letter, I knew who it was referring to before she described her, simply because that is how Charlotte is all the time. When I work with Charlotte it is not uncommon for her to walk up to me and speak while giving a warm pat on the back and she says, "thank you" all day. Charlotte is well loved by those who work with her and I can't think of a time when I have heard a negative thing about her. Charlotte is a classy lady with an excellent work ethic and values, I know that is not always easy. I appreciate her and I am happy to call her my coworker.
