I went to the ER because I didn't feel good and was short of breath in the morning. I ended up being admitted to med surge. I wanted to leave and be discharged because I was so concerned about my two dogs at home. I had no one to help take care of them, and I worried about them. I wanted to leave AMA. I didn’t care how sick I was; I just wanted to take care of my dogs. The assistant nurse manager said she would help find someone to take care of my dogs. The next thing I knew, this amazing ICU nurse came in on her day off to get my keys to take care of my babies. She brought in the food that was delivered and put it in the fridge. She fed them twice a day and walked them three times a day. She is truly an amazing person. She made sure that they would be taken care of every day I was in the hospital so I could focus on getting better to be able to go home to them. Everyone was great and pulled together to help me. They truly listened to me and took care of me. Charolette went above and beyond, and I would not have gotten better if it hadn’t been for her.
