She continuously went above and beyond to ensure that Mamaw was always taken care of. She was the most compassionate and present nurse we have encountered.
Losing someone you love is one of the most devastating experiences a family can go through, but losing our Mamaw? That pain is incomprehensible. The pain will never go away, but we couldn't have made it through these last few days without God sending Chasity "Sam" Turner, our day nurse.

It is hard to describe everything Sam was for us in a word, but we've been calling her our Angel Nurse. She continuously went above and beyond to ensure that Mamaw was always taken care of. She was the most compassionate and present nurse we have encountered.

She made sure Mamaw was comfortable every moment of our stay, reassuring us that it was okay if we wanted to rest because she would take care of her. We knew Mamaw truly was in good hands.

She went beyond our expectations as a nurse. We didn't have to question when she would come into the room because she was consistent in coming in to check on us and give medications at the right times. She even had a cart outside our door full of drinks and snacks for the family.

Even though we all knew Mamaw was unresponsive, Sam continued to detail everything she would do. Making sure the family understood as well what was happening in the process.

At one point during the stay, the floor ran out of Morphine, one of the medications given hourly. Sam made sure to take all the necessary steps to call and make sure she had the medication for Mamaw when it was time for her next dose.

Sam was also the one who had to pronounce Mamaw. She cried with us and made sure we were all comfortable before she left the room. Her selfless commitment to our family has not gone unnoticed.

Our deepest, most heartfelt gratitude goes out to Sam Turner for her exemplary, compassionate care for our family. We need more nurses like her because we could not have made it through any of this without her, and the impact she had on our family will never be forgotten.
