My introduction to Chastity came when she greeted me in the waiting area with a smile. In the exam room, while answering the customary questions, I noticed her laptop had a KSU Powercat logo on it. I inquired if she was a “K-State girl”? Asking if I was a “K-State guy” initiated a dialog that went beyond the usual patient/nurse niceties. Chastity seemed genuinely interested in me and my well-being. As a retired schoolteacher of 35 years, getting to know my students on a more personal level was a priority. Chastity went that extra mile and in doing so made me feel very comfortable.

Another example: in removing a stitch, she even apologized when I winced. On my next visit, I didn’t even need to sit down in the waiting room as she greeted me at the door, again with that wonderful smile. She spoke freely about her family and that made the atmosphere very comfortable as opposed to clinical, all the while demonstrating professionalism in her actions.
