I was staying on the Mother Baby floor, recovering from a long labor and a C-section. I was having a difficult time breastfeeding my son, and it was causing a great deal of pain! I have never felt so exhausted or have felt this defeated in my life! Chau started her shift following the worst night I had experienced, and I felt her positive energy the second she walked in! Right away, she assessed the situation, and she identified that my son was tongue-tied. This is why he was struggling to latch and also why I was in so much pain. She then helped demonstrate different techniques, and this, too, helped a great deal. Throughout her whole shift, I felt very well taken care of, and she definitely went above and beyond to support us to have a more successful breastfeeding experience! After this, my son and I were able to move forward with breastfeeding! The difference was astonishing! He was able to latch correctly, and I wasn't experiencing extreme pain! I know now that I wouldn't have been able to be successful with breastfeeding my child without this correction! I am so grateful for this nurse, and we will never forget how she helped us! I'm happy to say that we are still successfully breastfeeding! Thank you!
