There have been numerous difficult situations in Intermediate Care with patients who have been found with illegal contraband. Chellee, Charge RN, has consistently shown ease and grace when dealing with these patients. She has been kind yet firm in acknowledging their desire to use, acknowledging the patients' apprehensiveness of going through withdrawal. Chellee shows no moral judgement towards the patients, only compassion and respect. She expresses empathy and concern for the patients' wellbeing. Chellee is also an advocate for her nurses and CNAs by informing the patient of the risks they are potentially putting the staff in with their continued use and abuse of the illegal contraband. She is very calm, composed, and tactful in addressing these situations, informing the patient that their contraband will be confiscated and that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. She is able to get security involved without the patient becoming combative or argumentative towards staff. Chellee is remarkable at keeping her composure and displaying a calm demeanor in a chaotic and stressful environment.

Whenever she is in charge, I know that any difficult situation that presents itself will be handled in the most professional and proficient way. She checks in with the nurses and CNAs regularly and recognizes when a staff member may be struggling. Thank you for being that awesome nurse who genuinely cares for staff and the patients. It's an honor and a privilege to work with you.

Thank you, Chellee, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
