You can tell in Chelsea's eyes that she would do anything and everything for her patients.
Chelsea is an amazing nurse! She cared for my mom for 2 days. Mom was very confused and agitated. She required almost one on one care. She was never rushed and made my mom and I feel like she was here exclusively for us. The first day was rough and I expected the nurses to share her as a patient. I was very surprised when the next day Chelsea walked into mom's room. The thing that sets Chelsea apart is that she truly cares. Mom needed an MRI but had such anxiety that she could not do the test, even with IV sedation. Chelsea was able to calm her and at least got her to do 10 minutes of the test and then was done. Chelsea looked defeated. Later we found out that she had been successful and that the first 10 minutes was enough for the doctors to get the information they needed. Chelsea's determination and dedication to her patient had saved my mom from having to have the MRI done under anesthesia. You can tell in Chelsea's eyes that she would do anything and everything for her patients. We were discharged from the ICU when Chelsea was off. Two days later there was a knock on Mom's door and in walked Chelsea to check on her. She wanted to check up on her patient. She is not here for a paycheck. She is here because this is who she is, and Barnes Jewish Hospital is blessed to have this outstanding role model.
