Chelsea Budde, BSN, RN

Chelsea Budde was assigned to care for a teen who proceeded to brain death after suicide. In the midst of this horrible situation, Chelsea was a light for the mother of this boy. Chelsea spent the entire night at the side of this mother, inviting her to assist in bathing the patient, change sheets together, and went out of her way to obtain food for the mother and family. As a charge nurse that night, I witnessed the compassion that Chelsea exhibited to this mother who was in the midst of the worst day of her life. As a nurse resident who is new to our profession, Chelsea has quickly adopted the behaviors that are leading her to excellence. Chelsea is a smart, kind, and giving nurse who is acutely aware of the needs of her patients and their families.
