My son has to be suctioned before every feeding and it is extremely hard to hold him down while someone puts a tube up his nose and he screams and cries. I try to be strong for him but I broke down today during it and tears just rolled down my face. His nurse, Chelsea, was so kind, she came over and hugged me and told me what a great mom I am and how good I'm doing to help my son. It was a grand gesture or some extraordinary act of kindness but it was exactly what I needed at the very moment I needed it to stay strong for my son and to be reassured what we were doing was best for him.
