Chelsea Hawley Chelsea was my nurse when I was admitted for pancreatitis. I am a resident here so I was putting on a brave face, but Chelsea could tell I was scared. She offered me comfort when I was hurting. She offered kindness when I felt scared and alone. When it was time to go to NEO at midnight, I hadn’t eaten 4 days prior but with some coaxing, she got me to eat. Chelsea was attentive to my pain and rather than waiting for me to call out in a crisis, she anticipated and found solutions (ice packs are life ha, ha). I can’t describe it, but I know what makes a nurse exceptional and Chelsea embodies this entirely!
