November 2022 Honoree
Chelsea Hayashi, RN
Chelsea demonstrated a professional and cool attitude with her patient. The postoperative patient was an individual who had all four extremities in a splint or cast and was feeling anxious and understandably, in extreme pain. To top it off, the patient's only intravenous (IV) access was kinked and leaking. As soon as Chelsea approached the patient, Chelsea's demeanor had an effect on the patient - the patient began to relax and calm down. Chelsea was successful in establishing another IV access and the patient was able to receive the needed analgesia. A great outcome was achieved due to Chelsea's skill and professionalism.
Thank you, Chelsea, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
