Chelsea was hired just a short time ago to fill the position of the CF Clinical Coordinator with the added responsibility as backup CF Research Coordinator. It had been impressive to see how quickly she adapted to the Nemours culture. From the beginning, it has been apparent she was a great choice for the role. Chelsea is knowledgeable, personable, adaptable and unflappable! All qualities that made for a smooth transition for the staff, patients, and their families. Chelsea works tirelessly to ensure the standards for CF care are implemented for all patients. Her efforts evidence compassion, accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
Chelsea has already contributed towards process improvement both in EPIC capture as well as in the clinical environment. Taking quality improvement, a step further, she designed an infection control study and serves as Principal Investigator for this research project. The CF clinical trial research program has benefited from Chelsea's involvement as well. She is knowledgeable of the studies, active with recruitment and assists with procedures. Chelsea is active in community-based projects as well, successfully organizing a Cystic Fibrosis fundraising bake sale, participating in the CF fundraising walk and organizing the CF Family Day. Chelsea's work ethic and her expansive interests in the field of Cystic Fibrosis help children and families challenged with this disease. She has accomplished much in such a short time at Nemours. She is an Extraordinary Nurse.
Comments submitted by her peers include:
"She always fields our patient phone calls quickly, answers parent and child questions, and makes the kids feel comfortable. I know she does a lot behind the scenes that families don't see."
"Chelsea is a pleasure to work with and a blessing to the CF patients and families. Always positive, has a can-do attitude, willing to help out wherever is needed, and is kind and compassionate to patients and families."
According to patient nominations:
"We love Chelsea! She has been incredible. Whenever I call her she gets back to me so quickly and is not only extremely efficient and knowledgeable but caring as well. She's the best and we are lucky to have her as our CF nurse!"
"When my child was diagnosed with PA she was very supportive. She is fast to respond and went out of her way to get genetic testing performed for him. She always goes out of her way for us."
