Chelsea is the epitome of what a nurse should be. This is my second encounter with her, on two separate occasions involving two different family members, and her care and compassion for both have been nothing short of amazing. She goes above and beyond. Although I am a nurse, I do not specialize in cardiology. She did not waste any time putting me at ease by validating my feelings and addressing my uncertainty about my 91-year-old grandmother undergoing a surgical procedure by making sure that I understood the plan of care. Even after she explained, she could still tell that I was apprehensive about my elderly grandmother getting surgery, so she called to have the EP doctor come and speak to me again, which showed that she really cared not only for my grandmother but for me as well. This is truly what patient- and family-centered care is all about. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, WellStar should be lucky to have her on their team. I could not miss this opportunity of expressing my gratitude and letting WellStar MCG know that they have an extraordinary Nurse on Staff, and this truly comes from the bottom of my heart.
