I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for how Chelsea cared for a patient experiencing a severe manic episode on the verge of ending her life. In her calm demeanor, Chelsea convinced our member to remain on the phone while Deputies were dispatched to locate our member for a welfare check. The Sheriff's GPS was unable to determine the member's exact location. While deputies knocked on neighbors' doors around our member's general address, Chelsea kept our member engaged by listening, offering comfort, and constant reassurance that she would do her best to keep her safe. This continued for almost an hour while assistance was nearby. Chelsea's ability to connect and build a bond of trust over the phone convinced our member to take that step of courage and stand outside her building so that Deputies could locate her. Within minutes, our member was located and brought to safety at our local Kaiser Emergency Room. During times of crisis, it is reassuring to have a compassionate RN like Chelsea, truly an amazing example of what the heart of nursing looks like!
