The patient was the same age as the student, with a very poor prognosis. The patient was intubated, no brain activity due to cardiac arrest secondary to drug overdose. The patient's family was planning to come in around lunchtime to talk about next steps and to spend time with her, so Chelsea took the initiative and got the patient all cleaned up, brushed out all of the glue from the EEG, neatly braided her hair, and put it in a bun.

After Chelsea came back from break, the patient's mom introduced herself to the nurse and asked if they were the ones who put their daughter's hair up like that. Chelsea confirmed that she had, and the mom asked, "How did you know she always wore her hair like that?" The patient's mother shared numerous pictures of her daughter with her wearing her hair the same way it was put up in the hospital.

The mom told the nurse that she must have been sent to her daughter by God because of this act. Chelsea tended to this patient and her family as if they were her own, and received such a good rapport with them in such a short period of time.
