I was admitted for major abdominal surgery. I was very apprehensive as it involved cancer and the use of robotic keyhole surgery. I met Chelsea for admission and prep before seeing the Anaesthetist. She immediately put me at ease with her friendly, confident manner and relaxed conversation while establishing the info she needed from me. She took me in the lift to theatre and confided she had several ops (I had none until recently), so she kept me engaged and chatty as I approached. After op and HD unit overnight, I was back on the ward. Chelsea saw me the next day, and for the following three while, I restarted eating, had pain relief, and asked for lights/temperature to be changed. Throughout this recoup period, Chelsea was a bright, thoughtful, cheerful listener to my requests and conversation. To the extent that she remembered how I liked my drinks, details like ice with water, etc, which were recalled and checked despite there being 20 other beds on the ward. She was in a friendly, affable mood always, the mark of a true carer I think - not harassed, pre-occupied or distracted from my care. Simply effortless attention to detail and consistent high standard of care. Now I know what over and above means, I felt not only restored to health, but cherished. She is a true gem!

I had a coccygetomy surgery and I was very nervous and worried about it, all went very well, all the staff were so nice and caring to me. The next day, I had Chelsea as my nurse, she was super friendly and bubbly, we all got on very well with her, I was worried about how I would get into the car when leaving, she demonstrated how to do this and reassured me that the stitching is very hard to break. I just felt reassured at all times with her; she couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you so much again for being so lovely.

Amazing nurse, she was always there for me when I needed her. She was on hand to just talk to me when I was scared or in pain, and that was a huge comfort to me. Nothing was too much trouble for Chelsea. She took my dressings out and removed my catheter. I completely trusted her and felt confident in her ability. I felt like she took extra time with me and wanted me to get better.
