I came to the ER due to an E. coli infection. I was very weak with a temperature of 101.9. I had extreme tremors throughout my body. I was very nauseous and was repeatedly throwing up. I was admitted, and my nurse was Ms. Pennington. She explained everything clearly and showed genuine concern for my condition.

Her ability to express what exactly was happening, what I was experiencing, and the plan for my care, in a detailed and clear manner, allayed all my fears. Whenever I had a need or a concern, she took time to fully address the situation. Her attention and positive demeanor gave me confidence! I fully trusted anything she told me. I knew I was in good hands. Especially, when I had a very bad extreme reaction to the misprescribed medications ordered by the doctor, which resulted in my heart rate going to 145 beats per minute. I thought I was dying!, At that point, the doctor ordered another medication to stop the effects, and I was wary of his ability, and honestly, I did not trust his judgment. It was only when she alerted me to how high my heart was beating that I agreed to take it. And that is because I fully trusted her proven trust and genuine concern for me. The medication did stop the rapid heartbeat.
