Chelsea was absolutely amazing, caring, supportive, and truly present during one of the most difficult moments of my life.
My aunt had already been in the ICU for five days when Chelsea became her nurse. I had flown in urgently from New Jersey because my aunt is like a mother to me. After several emotional days at her bedside, I was faced with the heartbreaking decision to return home to my children in New Jersey, leaving my aunt in a very uncertain condition.
Chelsea saw my distress immediately. As I was preparing to leave, clearly overwhelmed and struggling with the guilt and fear of walking away, she gently reassured me that my aunt would be cared for. Then, in a moment I will never forget, she asked for my phone number, writing it down on a paper towel, and promised she would call me before the end of her shift with an update.
True to her word, Chelsea went above and beyond and called me after her shift ended. She did not rush the conversation. She took the time to explain how my aunt was doing, answer my questions, and offer reassurance during a moment when I felt helpless being so far away.
Her kindness, follow-through, and emotional support made an unbearable situation feel just a little more manageable. Chelsea did not just care for my aunt medically; she cared for our family emotionally. Her compassion, positivity, and willingness to extend herself beyond what was required truly made a meaningful difference during a time of despair.
