Chelsey Busken, RN
We had a patient who came for an intentional medication dose requiring involuntary psychiatric admission. Chelsea demonstrated poise and compassion as she used effective de-escalation techniques to help the patient. Her persistence in care was admirable. I strongly recommend her for the DAISY Award as she exemplifies the standard that is this award is designed for.

Chelsey had a very difficult and agitated patient who was in our ER for psychiatric reasons. Chelsey went above and beyond to attempt de-escalation for this patient. Chelsey showed true compassion in a caring attitude that embodies a nurse who cares for their patients. Even through threats and aggressive behavior from the patient Chelsey never faltered and continued to provide exceptional care.
