I delivered my son in February of this year, and Chelsey was our daytime nurse for almost all of our hospital stay. Chelsey helped me fill out paperwork to receive a breast pump and spent time showing me how to use it as well as measuring my size so I could order the right pieces. The lactation nurse was not available since it was the weekend; she took on all those responsibilities on top of everything else she was responsible for. Chelsey taught me so many things using personal experience and it was so nice to be able to relate to someone who had gone through similar things. On the day of our discharge, she allowed us to take our time preparing to head home. She walked us out with kind words. The day after I was discharged, I was re-admitted with post-partum pre-eclampsia and was fortunate to have Chelsey as my nurse again. It was so comforting to see a familiar face in a scary situation. She helped us communicate and re-arrange appointments for my son. I have never met a nurse who gives 110% to the patients in every aspect. I felt very blessed to have Chelsey as my nurse and know that every patient feels the same way. Chelsey is an amazing nurse who stands out and goes above and beyond. She truly deserves this award.
