When I think of Chelsey, the first thing that comes to mind is her kind and gentle way of caring for patients. Chelsey had the most amazing way of making each patient feel like they were the only patient that she was caring for that night and that they always had her undivided attention. Chelsey never worried if she was behind on her charting or if she would be able to leave on time in the morning. While her charting was perfect and her task list always clear, she made sure that every patient felt like the most important patient she had, no matter how long it took her. Chelsey was always willing to help a fellow nurse when needed, even if she was struggling herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable about her field and what I believe to be the gold standard of nursing.

I had the honor of having Chelsey as a preceptor when I first began working as a nurse. Her patients and understanding were unmatched. She was always gentle in her explanation of new tasks or when offering corrections as they were needed. She managed to ensure that each patient's care was held to the highest standard while still teaching a timid new nurse how to perform her duties. She ensured that my charting and task list were both perfect each morning before we left, and while I did not understand it at the time, she was setting me up for an easier transition and better success once I was on my own. Chelsey truly taught me how to be a nurse that embodies Christ through their service. There is no one more deserving of the DAISY Award than Chelsey.
