Thank you, Chelsie, for treating your patient with great care and compassion. A patient felt horrible about coming to the ED as they were embarrassed and ashamed about their situation. Several comments were made by the patient about how well they were treated by all staff, but especially by Chelsie. Normally the patient feels judged but didn't feel judged at all that day. We hope that all patients are treated with compassion and respect, but especially those with diseases that are stigmatized. So, thank you, Chelsie, for providing excellent care and helping a patient feel like a human being; not a "burden".
