Cherie comes up to our unit all of the time to place IVs in hard patients after we have tried, even if she is busy, she comes right up and never complains about it. She is so good with her patients and they always talk about how great she is when she leaves the room. All of us day nurses in OB have said that we strive to be like Cherie Gibson with our nursing careers!

Cherie is an Extraordinary Nurse! I have witnessed on multiple occasions how she makes a patient feel like her own family. She is not only kind but also empathetic which is a great thing to have when caring for patients who may be scared or uncomfortable. She is always willing to help out other staff when needed and never complains. She doesn't look down on anyone because of their job status and is quick to offer a helping hand.

Cherie is the kind of nurse who gives her all to patients and co-workers. She is always willing to help. She is the same outside of the facility. She is a great teacher. I love Cherie. She took care of me when I was a patient. She is not one to be fussed over, but I pray that she gets a chance to be appreciated for what she does. To have Cherie Gibson at Noyes is an asset for us all.

Through the years I have watched Cherie perform various roles at Noyes: 1) outstanding and well-respected emergency room nurse. She is non-judgmental and compassionate to the patients and their families yet has a "no-nonsense" air about her that many respect about her. 2) Unofficial IV nurse; if I'm having difficulty with an IV and know Cherie is coming on, I'll ask her. And many times she'll come in early, stay late, or come in on her days off for patients needing a PICC line. Always having the patient's best interest in mind. 3) Teacher and mentor: Cherie is very knowledgeably of her job; from orienting new staff, teaching the Alfred students and basically being a resource person within the hospital. I remember when I was first starting supervision, there were many times I'd ask her opinion or guidance. She's always willing to share her wealth of knowledge. 4) Meditech "EDM" builder, instructor and resource for all ED staff. She has been instrumental in the success of the ED going forward with electronic documentation. Cherie is one of the most well rounded and overall great nurses! She provides her patients excellent nursing care, leaving them feeling confident in the care they received at Noyes, as well as her co-workers and the providers know they can rely on her to uphold the excellent standard of care.
