CDR Cheronda ‘Roni’ Cherry-France’s exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment to advancing her colleagues make her an outstanding candidate for the DAISY Award.
As Co-Chair of the Nurse Professional Advisory Committee’s (NPAC) Career Development Subcommittee (CDS), CDR Cherry-France has demonstrated unparalleled commitment, leadership, and dedication.

In her role as Co-Chair, CDR Cherry-France has exhibited extraordinary leadership skills. She provides guidance to three co-chairs and oversees six co-leads across three workgroups: Continuing Education Resource (6 members), Mentoring Workgroup (178 members across 5 groups), and Promotion Preparedness Workgroup (7 members). Her accountability spans over 200 nurse officers within the subcommittee, ensuring the delivery of relevant and current resources crucial for mentoring, career development, and CV reviews.

CDR Cherry-France’s dedication was pivotal in organizing the 2023 and 2024 USPHS Scientific and Training Symposiums Career Counseling sessions, where she facilitated CV feedback for junior nurse officers. In 2023, 22 officers received constructive feedback, and in 2024, 12 officers engaged in discussions about promotional strategies within the Medical Services Category.

Beyond her leadership, CDR Cherry-France actively supports her colleagues by mentoring junior officers, serving as a Promotion Preparedness CV Reviewer (2022-2024), and coordinating CV reviews for over 35 nurse officers with PHERST. She advocated for non-voting members within the Nurse PAC By-Laws and Charter, ensuring their inclusion in discussions critical to nurse officer succession and accountability.

One of CDR Cherry-France’s significant achievements is her steadfast representation of the Office Basic Course on behalf of the Nurse PAC since 2016. Her efforts have facilitated networking opportunities that welcome over 125 new nurse officers, fostering a supportive environment crucial for their integration and professional growth.

In summary, CDR Cheronda ‘Roni’ Cherry-France’s exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment to advancing her colleagues make her an outstanding candidate for the DAISY Award. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on the CDS and set a standard for future leaders. It is with the utmost respect and admiration that I nominate her for this esteemed award.
