1LT Cherry Mae Pamintuan displays determination in performing her assigned tasks and demonstrates a commitment to duty as Infection Control Nurse and Quality Assurance Officer. As Infection Control Nurse, she played a vital role in the management and operational success of Sicao Quarantine Facility where all mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients are admitted. During the surge of COVID-19 cases in the 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, there was a period where it reaches the limited capacity of the hospital to admit COVID-19 patients. The creation of Sicao Quarantine Facility helps in decongestion of patients in the hospital, thus it helps in preventing the spread of COVID-19 virus. Her work resulted significantly in terms of the management and training of personnel assigned at Sicao Quarantine Facility.
Moreover, she has been a great contributor in the Department of Health (DOH) Accreditation of Sicao Quarantine Facility. As part of the Hospital Infection Committee and Quality Assurance Officer, she uses evidence to update polices and implement innovations that result to smooth functioning of the quarantine facility and infectious ward. She thinks beyond the bedside and makes sure that the best quality care for patients is the highest priority. 1LT Pamintuan not only advocates for our patients, but she advocates for the nurses as well. She shares her knowledge and expertise with the nursing service team as well as collaborates with the doctors in the planning of care and implementation of quality nursing care to our patients. She makes sure that the most effective working relationship is possible. She is also actively involved in educating the Kampilan Troopers in addressing to COVID Protocol as evidenced by the request coming from a different unit of 6ID, PA as their resource speaker. Her innovative drive has provided nursing with fresh and appreciated information in addition to mentoring others. 1LT Pamintuan is a valiant leader, who role models commitment to duty, creativity, risk-taking, compassionate and collaborative practice. She is definitely a DAISY Nurse.
