Cheryl was very welcoming, understanding and knowledgeable when it came to the care of my son and with the rest of the family. She has a very loving, calm, understanding personality. I was getting aggravated at the doctors changing the care of my son without speaking to me first. Unfortunately, she was the one I lashed out to. When I did, she stayed very calm and explained everything they did, why they did it, and that she would pass along my concerns and frustrations. She made sure my son was comfortable at all times. Cheryl was very prompt for all requests we had.
When my 3 year old daughter came to visit her brother, Cheryl made her feel very comfortable, ensured she was also taken care of. Before the end of her shift she gave me a hug and made me feel a lot better about this whole situation. Never once did she make me feel bad for getting aggravated but instead she made me feel that it was very understandable. She warmed my heart and put a smile on my face more than once even though all I wanted to do was cry.
Cheryl most definitely deserves to be recognized and appreciated for not only being an amazing nurse but for being an amazing, loving and caring person. She made me feel as if I was just as important as the doctors in the care and healing of my son. This in itself deserves appreciation! She is a role model for any and all nurses.
