I had the good fortune of meeting several of your team members who were all professional and helpful, however, one in particular stood out. Cheryl's care was exceptional specifically her bedside manner as well as her knowledge, skills and ability. She had a smile on her face during the entire pre-op process. The room was busy, she was excellent in multi-tasking and clearly a go-to person with her peers assisting with computer questions, charting and difficult sticks. My surgery had been re-scheduled from last week leaving my chart missing documents. She tracked down expeditiously and ensured the chart was complete for the doctor. She was kind to share that she too was a breast cancer survivor making me feel a personal connection as I was preparing for my surgery. Having been in and out of hospitals for the past 10 years undergoing various operations this was the first time I felt at ease prior to surgery. For her exceptional attention to details, a smile to light the room, eye contact and a feeling of genuine compassion towards me I nominate Cheryl for The DAISY Award.
