March 2020 Honoree
Cheryl Dauzat, RN
I have been working with Cheryl Dauzat since I was first diagnosed with diabetes. The doctor made an appointment with Cheryl immediately after my appointment with her. I was dazed and confused and had no idea that I was at risk for diabetes. Cheryl explained things to me in ways that I could understand, and I saw almost from the beginning that I could do this!
When I was diagnosed, my A1C was 10.6! With Cheryl's coaching, I have been able to reduce my A1c to 6.0! Cheryl also coached me about lifestyle changes, including changes to my diet. I now eat a low-carbohydrate diet, which has played a major part in lowering my blood sugar and losing weight. Cheryl told me about many helpful books and videos about food and exercise. Even though I had been eating mainly organic food for many years, there were still many changes to be made.

Thank you, Cheryl, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
