The relationships Cheryl creates with her patients and families are truly what has made a difference. She is good at listening and is alert to changes in patient conditions and implications in terms of care. She makes sure their needs are also recognized by the rest of the care team, she advocates for her patients and anticipates their needs. She is sympathetic with their problems and fears, has a strong desire to make the hospital experience a positive one.

Most recently we saw all of this come together in skill and compassion while caring for a young 34 year old male, admitted with a CVA, severe brain injury with a poor initial prognosis. Cheryl worked very closely with him, she truly took him under her wing. After 2 months, he became independent with his feeding, follows simple commands, and sits up by himself.

Cheryl is very dedicated, always there to help even when the patient isn't under her care, very pleasant to work with.
