Cheryl is a phenomenal patient advocate. Cheryl recently cared for a patient involved in a familial violence situation. Cheryl worked with her charge RN to ensure the patient received the physical assessment and care needed, while ensuring that the patient's rights were protected. This situation required navigation of legal and regulatory channels. Cheryl provided care free from judgment and implicit bias. The patient was ultimately transferred to a specialty unit to receive more definitive care. Cheryl embodies our Interprofessional Relationship-Based Care Practice Model through her ability to care about her patients' safety and outcomes and her collaborative professionalism with her peers, providers, and multiple disciplines, both internal to NM McHenry and the community.
