Cheryl took care of a patient on night shift and at shift change the patient was discharged. At that point, we discovered that the patient did not have enough money to purchase the medications prescribed to her. Cheryl graciously gave the patient enough money for the medication. This is only one example of what an awesome nurse she is!
Cheryl is very good with all of her patients, showing kindness and compassion but she is especially good with the pediatric population. Most of the time those patients are the most scared and very anxious when they arrive in the Emergency Department as they are in an unknown environment. Cheryl has a magical touch and is able to soothe the patient and their family. She addresses both the clinical and emotional needs of the patient simultaneously.
