Cheryl has proven herself to be an invaluable member of our unit
Cheryl Reyes joined our Mother-Baby family in 2019. She has been a nurse since 2005 and has worked in various hospital departments in the Philippines. Her experience in OB nursing started when she was in Kuwait as a labor and delivery nurse. She later worked as a postpartum and newborn nursery nurse in North Dakota. In a short amount of time, Cheryl has proven herself to be an invaluable member of our unit.
Here are just a few patient recognition quotes that we have received in the past year which reflect the wonderful care she has provided:
Cheryl Reyes on postpartum was amazing, we didn't want to leave her! She is definitely someone extra special!

Cheryl was our night nurse on postpartum. She was super attentive to me and my daughter. She helped me with everything that I needed. She is amazing!

Nurse Cheryl gave our newborn and us as new parents an incredible degree of care, compassion, and empathy during a very stressful time. Our baby had to spend 12 hours including overnight in phototherapy. Our baby had trouble settling down, and Chery went above and beyond in comforting him and us as parents and looking out for our well-being while we would otherwise be panicking. Even though the mother was discharged, Cheryl was aware of her conditions and kept an eye on her in case things worsened. She was encouraging and calming but very responsive to our needs and took our concerns as seriously as we did. I felt understood and appreciated in every interaction we had, no matter how stressed we were. I don't know what our stay at the hospital would have looked like without Chery looking out for us, but I know it would have been a very rough experience.

To paraphrase Cheryl's own words when she was selected as MBU Spotlight recipient, she stated, "I truly love being a nurse. It is a calling, a vocation, to be able to fully embrace this job. Every day is a learning experience, not just as a nurse but also in life, as I care for and meet people from all areas of society. These experiences give me a sense of reality and bring me back to the core of why I chose to be a nurse. It is such a rewarding job!"
Thank you Cheryl for being such a wonderful nurse to our postpartum patients! Your compassion and caring nature are recognized by so many patients, and we are so very thankful to have you with us!
