Cheryl Ruff, a nurse for Meritus Home Health, is according to one patient’s sister, the “only nurse that he trusts.” Recently Cheryl told the patient while on a home visit that she needed to call an ambulance. According to Cheryl’s nominator, “without any hesitation, he gave her permission to do so. She stayed with him and coordinated between the hospital, ambulance crew, and doctors. She saved his life!”

Cheryl was also noted for her “extraordinary compassion,” being “trustworthy and knowledgeable,” and “an asset to Meritus.” Her nominator said, “She is an absolute angel, and is so deserving of the DAISY award.”
