The patient arrived by EMS for low blood sugar and, once stabilized, kept asking for a strawberry shortcake. After the provider came in with a devastating diagnosis of cancer, the patient completely lost her appetite. Cheryl went above and beyond by taking the patient a strawberry shortcake on her day off. The family later shared that the patient passed away, but they wanted Cheryl to know how much her small gesture meant—not only to the patient, but to the family. Cheryl truly represented the Wake Way with this act of kindness!
