Recently, we had a patient with a very extended stay in our Emergency Department (weeks). Cheryl recognized how difficult it must be to be in a room with no windows. She would take the patient out in the wheelchair for walks and down to a room on the floor to eat lunch by a window. She used her own money to buy him sweatpants and undergarments and took his items to the laundromat to refresh them. It's the little things that make a big difference to the patient we care for, and our patient was blessed to have Cheryl care for him.
