Cheryl Witt, PhD, RN

Dr. Cheryl Witt is an accomplished nurse scientist and advocate who has led a unique effort and strategy to reduce farmer suicide risk in the state of Kentucky. Her work has resulted in a collaborative initiative bringing together legislators, academicians, agriculture officials, farm advocacy groups, and industry leaders. Her innovative “challenge coin” intervention is now being implemented throughout Kentucky and other states. Her work has also provided community engagement opportunities for undergraduate and graduate nursing students to gain a deeper understanding of the farmer community and their unique mental health needs.
