Chesere Daniels is such a wonderful nurse! Patients are always raving about her, and she often receives positive comments in patient surveys. Here is one example of her extraordinary compassion:

Recently, a patient with a ruptured aneurysm came to us from another area hospital. He and his wife had been married for 61 years when he very suddenly became critically ill. Chesere sat with the patient's wife, called all four of their children, and updated them since the wife was too upset to talk. She stayed with the wife in the surgical waiting room as well. Sadly, the patient died during emergency surgery. The OR staff came out to bring the wife back to our holding room so that the surgeon could inform her that her husband did not make it. Chesere went back with her and stayed with her as he delivered the news. The wife was devastated. Chesere then coordinated with the OR staff to prepare his body for the wife to view. The wife was so upset, she said she didn't have the strength to call her children. Chesere then called all four children to let them know their dad had died. It was really amazing to hear and see how wonderful she was with this family.
