My sister has been in the hospital for over 90 days and is now in the Rehab Unit at Queen of the Valley Hospital. Each day it gets harder for her to smile or even laugh. I walked into her room recently and she was smiling and laughing out loud. It was all because of an outstanding nurse, Chester. Every time he came into her room to check on her, he left her smiling and laughing. It was good to see my sister laughing. I just wanted to say, "Thank you to Chester". It was wonderful to see a nurse who really enjoys his job and knows the importance of the positive effect of laughter for the patient and also for the people visiting. I usually leave the hospital feeling really sad, not wanting to leave my sister looking so sad. And yesterday when I said goodbye she said good night and was smiling! The world needs more nurses like Chester!!
