July 2018 Honoree
chevon johnson, RN
It was very embarrassing post-op to have to be checked every hour for flap failure. Chevon was absolutely wonderful abort managing my pain, I never had to wait or watch the clock, and she was there for my every need. She went beyond to help provide more comfort by finding an eggcrate, cushion for my back and extra pillows and blankets without being asked. Chevon was very empathetic, compassionate and understanding to what I was going through.
She also made sure I was comfortable with the intern (training) male doctors during rounds to study my incisions both in my breast and my abdomen. Each time she stayed bedside to ease the awkwardness. She may be a new nurse but showed to be more professional and personable than the older nurses. She never once made me feel like I was just a patient. She deserves recognition for her warm patient loving manner. She was born for this.

Thank you, Chevon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
