Her compassion shined through when she saw me get emotional and asked if I was okay.
My dad checked into the critical care unit on a Saturday morning. The staff was amazing, friendly, and helpful, but one nurse stands out. Cheyanne was friendly from the minute we met her and always bent over backward to help my dad with whatever he needed. He has a peg tube, so she was always on top of his scheduled feedings and she helped to walk with him so he could keep up his strength. All of these things sound like something, a nurse should do, but her friendliness and compassion were beyond anyone else who walked into his room. We found out that she is working on getting her doctorate in family medicine, which would wear anyone out, along with working a full-time job in nursing. Her compassion shined through when she saw me get emotional and asked if I was okay. This young woman deserves to be recognized for her incredible work ethic, kindness, and grace, all while continuing to smile. Thank you!
