We would like to brag on and praise our nurse of several nights, Chi-Chi (Chinyere). Wednesday night was uneventful with my daughter and her needs but Thursday night was one we will never forget. She had multiple seizures through the night that involved multiple bedding changes, clothing changes and more for my little girl. We've been in-patient and out-patient countless times in the past 11 years and the compassion and patience of Chi-Chi will forever leave an impact on myself and my daughter. She never missed a beat through that night and not once did we feel like a burden or that we were going through this alone. I was brought to tears as I recounted all that Chi-Chi did for us during those 12 hours. In my experience over the years of receiving nursing care for my daughter in a hospital, Chi-Chi by far went above and beyond. Not only did she do what is her job to do but she did it all with pure excellence, professionalism, compassion and with a smile. As she was cleaning up the aftermath of my daughter's seizure she made sure I could just focus on my child and being there for her. Chi-Chi took care of everything else and had our room back to normal in no time as if nothing had ever happened. I realize it's a nurses "job" to do the things she did, however, to do something like she had to do with a smile told me she really did care and that we were in good hands. Her demeanor towards us each night she cared for my daughter showed how much she sincerely cared and it was obvious that this is more than a job for her. She's a true gem here and we will forever be thankful for her being our angel in that night of darkness.
