September 2025 Honoree
Chip Cromer, RN,CCRN
I had knee surgery, and later that morning I was given a painkiller that I'd never taken before. I had a severe reaction and was moved to the ICU.
Chip was my nurse. We had many wonderful chats; it completely took my mind off what I was going through. My time passed quickly, and I felt so much better under his care. He has a great bedside manner and took the time to explain everything to me. He really eased my fears and made me feel completely safe and cared for.
On the day I was being discharged from the 6th floor, they were very busy. He had brought a patient up and saw me in my room, and he spoke to my nurse and offered to complete my discharge needs, including bringing me my car. I feel like not only was I treated with care and respect, but that I now have a new friend.
