Chloe Weaver is one of the most intelligent and compassionate nurses I have had the privilege of knowing.

Chloe cared for my brother, who is a 58-year-old individual with special needs who underwent major spinal surgery. Postoperatively, he was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and experienced significant hypotension, requiring high doses of Neo-Synephrine and eventual transfer to the NCCU.

During this critical time, Chloe acted quickly and efficiently to carry out all of Dr's orders to stabilize his condition. At the same time, she provided the individualized, compassionate, and loving care that his personality and special needs required.

Her ability to balance clinical excellence with genuine empathy was truly remarkable.

As both a coworker and a charge nurse, Chloe consistently goes above and beyond. She frequently picks up additional shifts to ensure PACU is adequately staffed and always arrives early, prepared to step into whatever role is needed.

Chloe is consistently several steps ahead. She maintains a comprehensive awareness of every patient in her PACU, stays informed about activity in other PACUs, and closely follows what is occurring in the OR so that PACU nurses are fully prepared for incoming patients.

When a patient begins to decline, Chloe is quick to contact anesthesia, anticipates provider orders, and ensures that medications and equipment are at the bedside before the physician arrives.

She is authoritative and decisive when a patient's condition requires firm leadership, yet remains patient, compassionate, and kind when family members need reassurance and understanding. She seamlessly adapts his/her approach to meet each individual's needs.

Nursing is often a thankless profession, and I would truly love to see an exceptional nurse like Chloe recognized with this prestigious award. She embodies the very best of what nursing represents.
