Chloe Knight, RNC
I would like to nominate Chloe for recognition for the exceptional care, compassion, and dedication she has shown my son, N, and our family during one of the most challenging times of our lives.
From the beginning of N’s leukemia treatment journey, Chloe has consistently gone above and beyond her role to ensure Noah and our family felt supported, cared for, and understood. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion have made an enormous difference to us.
One particularly memorable example was on the day of N’s operation. Chloe provided outstanding support, helping to ease our anxiety and ensuring that N felt safe and reassured throughout a very stressful experience. Her calm presence, empathy, and attentiveness gave us comfort when we needed it most.
Another example that truly demonstrates Chloe’s extraordinary commitment occurred during N’s eye clinic appointment. After a long wait, understanding how tiring and exhausting the day had become for a child undergoing intensive treatment, Chloe personally came down to bring N’s medication. She did not stop there—recognising how fatigued N was, she took the initiative to escort us back upstairs to the ward, ensuring that he could rest as soon as possible. This act may have seemed small, but to us it reflected an exceptional level of compassion, thoughtfulness, and patient-centred care.
What makes Chloe truly special is her ability to see beyond the medical condition and recognise the emotional and physical challenges faced by children and their families. She consistently treats every patient with dignity, warmth, and genuine kindness. Her actions are never simply tasks to be completed; they come from sincere care and a desire to make difficult situations easier for others.
Chloe embodies the very best of the NHS values. Her dedication, empathy, and willingness to go the extra mile have profoundly impacted N’s experience and our family. We will always remember the difference she made during some of our most difficult days, and I can think of no one more deserving of this award.
