November 2022 Honoree
Chloe Kwon, RN, MSN
A patient family shared a remarkable example with me in which Chloe provided compassionate, inclusive, extraordinary care. For several consecutive shifts, she was caring for an unstable patient on ECMO. The patient required close monitoring, multiple interventions, collaboration with various disciplines, and critical thinking. The patient's grandmother happened to be visiting extensively during those shifts.
The grandmother, who has Alzheimer's Disease, asked Chloe the same questions hour after hour and day after day- and yet Chloe patiently answered, provided explanations, and even shared drawings to help the grandmother and family understand the patient's care. The patient's family shared how meaningful Chloe's tireless care was to their critically ill child-- and to them, as a family unit.

Thank you, Chloe, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
